While I was reading this, I first thought..."yeah, but I don't want to offend someone by doing this." Then, I thought, "man, I am so grateful that someone had the confidence to do this with me so many years ago!"
For sure! That is a challenge! I had the same fear then... And can see how that would be a concern now. But at the end of the day, most people are not likely going to be confrontational or offended by offering a prayer. As long as confrontational evangelism is not the approach, I think most people will recongize the good intention and be thankful. And it allows for the Holy Spirit to speak into the moment. And amen! It does take courage and confidence!
